Watching a baby find its toes for the first time is a delightful experience. The baby, before that moment, may have had no conscious awareness that it had toes or where they were attached. To the baby, it really didn’t matter, but once the baby discovered it had toes, they became a fascination and an object of discovery.
In our innocence we are just like the baby. Once we become aware that we have unlimited potential, we become fascinated with it. We want to discover more and more of what being unlimited means. Unfortunately we can study being unlimited for a whole lifetime and do nothing else with it. To become unlimited we must step into belief that we are unlimited. To do that, we must push ourselves beyond knowing.
Young birds know that their parents can fly. They watch them from the safety of the nest. A young bird is usually too afraid to jump off the nest and fly because they don’t know that they can, until one day, they get pushed out of the nest by the parent. At that moment, they instinctively spread their wings and fly. It’s nothing graceful at first, but they are flying. That young bird was pushed beyond the knowing of what flying was. to the act of being – soaring through the sky in flight.
You see, for us, knowing is not the same as being what you know. Once you know you are unlimited, it’s time to discover how to be it. There are a number of steps to lead you to the faith that nothing can stop you from the totality of your pure potential, except yourself. Once you realize that by self-limiting, you keep yourself in a corral that you won’t venture out of, you can sometimes bust through the fear that kept you there in the first place.
Most people who have watched the Movie The Secret, have some idea that they want more out of life. Lots of those people devote time every day to meditate, read and study ways to expand their awareness and to grow spiritually. Some of them have done it for years. They know about the concept because they have studied and observed. The Masters say, “Observe until you know.” Once you know, it’s time to be. Now it is time for each and every person to stop what they are studying and to be what they are studying, and it all starts with choosing it.
Beingness if there is such a word, is taking all of the attributes of life that you love and claiming them as your own, living them every moment with such an unshakable faith that they can never be taken from you. It takes courage, it takes clarity. Are you up for the challenge?
