Look around at all your friends and even your family. In many ways these groups are a lot like each other. Yes, there are striking differences but there are underlying undercurrents of similarity. Out of all the differences between us, the most remarkable is attitude. You’ll notice the people with what you think is a good attitude, generally have it all together.
There was this guy called William James. He lived over a century ago and he said it perfectly. “The greatest discovery of this generation is that a human being can alter their life by altering their attitude.” If we are motivated enough, we can change our attitude, but sometimes when life doesn’t go quite right, we set this “super-tanker” of doubt and disbelief in motion that takes a while to steer in another direction. It doesn’t turn on a dime.
While our process of changing our attitude is taking place, we sometimes think our lot in life is to suffer endlessly and there is no hope. This change in our situation that we are seeking is taking too long and the appearance is that what we are trying to do is not working. We want to give up and we think things are never going to change. This is the farthest thing from the truth. You could be just a hair-breadth away, so don’t ever give up.
You see, attitudes are contagious. Your attitude not only affects you and your life, it affects everyone in your circle, including the check-out clerk at the supermarket. It ripples through your world like a stone dropped into a still pond, and if your attitude gets heavy and cumbersome, that stone could sink your life into an unpleasant place.
I will admit that when life is not going right, it is probably karmic residues in your fields that need to be addressed. You need to see an expert healer in dealing with that sort of thing, it can be quite complex. It is really hard to maintain a positive attitude when all you want to do is take a bottle of pills and end it all. In fact, it is next to impossible.
I have this unfailing attitude and belief with all my heart, that anything can be fixed. It requires a sharp eye and the vigilance of a cat watching a mouse hole to find the right key to unlock the prison that some people feel they are in. Peeling off the layers with respect and gentleness is key. Not everyone is fortunate enough to live close to me so I guess that’s why I have been gifted with the ability to work very effectively over distance.
While it is important to have a positive and uplifting attitude you have to start somewhere. So start where you are. Sit down and look at your situation. Do you want to change it? Do you want more than you already are? If you do, are you prepared to do what it takes to get it? Are you prepared to let me walk beside you and assist you to get where to want to go? I’m not saying this will be an easy or a quick process, but it is do-able. Do you think you are worth the effort? I do, or we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Think about it. You’ll know where to find me.
